Basa Janikashvili
Playwright, writer. Born on May 24, 1974, in Tbilisi.
In 1995, he graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University.
Since 1996, Basa Janikashvili’s short stories, plays, radio dramas, and blogs have been published in literary journals and online. His plays and novels have been released in Italy, Germany, France, and Ukraine. He has published three novels and four collections of plays. He is the author of over ten plays, which have been staged in Georgia, Germany, Scotland, France, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, elsewhere.
At various times, He has worked as a media manager, TV director, music producer, a TV show host.
Basa Janikashvili is the author of the screenplays for two feature films. Among them, the film “Citizen Saint” (Director Tinatin Kajrishvili) was nominated for the 2023 Oscars in the category of Best Foreign Film of the Year.
